Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. I hope we can give you a greater insight into our team, our horses and what we do at Chester Williams Racing.

We train from Culverhill Farm in North Devon, a stunning location and an idyllic, calm environment for the horses. The yard and facilities have been developed over 25 years, providing everything needed for racehorses to produce their peak performance. So far, the winners of 12 Grade 1s, three Cheltenham Festival races and a host of other big handicaps and graded races have been trained from Culverhill.

As with all sports, racing becomes increasingly competitive year on year, with the margins between success and failure so small. Success as a trainer involves so many factors, from buying and development to race planning, feeding and so much more, making it an endlessly fascinating and complex puzzle. Data is used across all areas to analyse horses’ health and wellbeing, talent identification, race statistics and pedigree. At Chester Williams Racing, every factor is considered and no stone is left unturned in the pursuit of excellence.

2025/26 was my first season as a trainer, and we were fortunate to have a season that far exceeded my expectations, with 11 winners, including Tenter Le Tout winning the Grade 2 Finale Hurdle. We finished the season with £153,046 in prize money and a 26% strike rate, the second-highest in the top 100 trainers.

With a benchmark now set, the focus is on continuously improving the numbers year on year, the quality of the horses we train and the races we win. I would be delighted if you would join me on this journey, and we can share success and good times together.
